The Most Common Complaints About Indian Skincare
Across categories, a small set of recurring complaints show up again and again in Indian skincare voice and text reviews.

This is a general editorial summary of widely observed patterns in Indian skincare feedback — not a statistical report drawn from any single brand's data.
1. "Doesn't suit Indian weather"
The single most common category of complaint isn't about a product being bad — it's about a product feeling formulated for a different climate. Heavier Western-style moisturizers and sunscreens are the most frequent target, especially outside the cooler months.
2. White cast and greasy finish
Covered in more depth elsewhere, but worth naming directly here: these two textural complaints outnumber complaints about fragrance, packaging, or even price by a wide margin in most categories.
3. "Takes too long to show results"
Skincare customers in India are generally patient by global standards — but there's a fairly consistent expectation window (often discussed as 4–6 weeks for serums, longer for anything claiming to fade pigmentation) after which a lack of visible change becomes the headline complaint, even if every other aspect of the product was fine.
4. Fragrance intensity, not fragrance itself
Customers rarely complain that a product is scented. They complain when the scent is stronger than expected, especially for anything applied near the eyes or used at night.
5. Packaging failures on delivery
Pump bottles that leak in transit, droppers that don't draw properly, and jars that arrive with product missing from the seal are common enough to show up as their own complaint cluster, separate from anything about the formula.
Why complaints cluster this way
Most of these are climate- or logistics-driven, not formulation failures in the traditional sense — which is exactly why they're easy to miss in a star rating and easy to hear in a customer's own words.
